Rehashing the past

Okay, below is the one and only post from my Journals section prior to switching to Blogspot. It’s from August 25, 2005. Enjoy!

Well, I suppose if you want to go any further back than this, you’ll have to read my Bio.

Brie made Assistant Manager at her dive shop last month. I couldn’t be prouder!! Unfortunately it also means she works one hell of a lot. Just before her birthday, (July 25th) one of her emplyees went to lunch and never came back. So of, of course, as assistant manager she had to cover all his shifts. That wouldn’t have been so bad, except that her mother, step-father and step-brother had come out to see her at the time. She didn’t get a single day off with them. But at least she gets paid to go on a boat from time to time.

Me? I’m still teaching. Spoiled-fucking-brats. It’s sad that I don’t have anything to talk about besides their new explioits in disrespect. Don’t get me wrong, I was a smart-ass in high school. I will readily admit that. But at least I respected my teachers. Okay, I guess I should qualify that. I respected the teachers who seemed competent in the subject they were teaching, (i.e. about 80% of them). If you’re going to disrespect a teacher, at least ace the class. That’s a pretty good philosophy. All the disrespectful ones also seem to be unable to study or write worth a damn. If you’re going to have an attitude, at least be able to back it up!

Anyhow , hurricane Huricane Katrina is knocking on our door, and the school district hasn’t decided whether they will close the schools yet. My nazi Executive Director won’t care, though, because she expects ups to be at work if any government agencies in Florida happen to be open. Never mind that she split north at noon today to “beat the storm”. She will be calling work tomorrow at 7:30 sharp to make sure the rest of us are there. So much for leading by example. I can’t wait until they find somebody new and she is gone for good. I could tell you for hours how she is conning the rest of ust to do her job. I’m not even sure what she does there, besides delegateing her own responsibilities.

Had enough griping.? I suppose I will cut off then. I’ll just tell you all that Connor loves Kindergarten, even though he is getting in trouble all the time. Maybe that’s why he loves Kindergarten ;-) . Anyhow. I’ll give you a more thorougugh update later. Business school plans and what-not. I just don’t want to overwhelm you on your first visit.

Love you All!!
